Health & Safety
Enzo's Construction understands and works hard to meet its responsibilities in relation to Safety, Health and the Environment.
In addition to our statutory obligations, our clients often set us even more challenging requirements which must be met. We understand that our performance is judged as equally on our SHE record as it is on anything else and this ensures we maintain our focus on continuous improvement.
Maintaining high standards
Our work sites are managed by experienced Site Managers who are responsible for day-to-day site decisions and for overseeing the practical implementation of safe systems of work. Each site is subject to frequent inspections by our own Health & Safety Advisor and audits from Client Representatives and/or CDM Co-ordinator, where appropriate. This ensures that all sites are maintained to a standard that meets both statutory and client requirements.
Training and competency
Our HSE Manager ensures that all staff receives relevant HSE training to assist them in undertaking their task safely and efficiently. External courses on specific subjects may be utilised along with internal training, as and when appropriate.
All our Site Managers have or are currently undertaking the 5 day CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) and are qualified First Aiders.
All employees have the appropriate training and skills needed to meet their job requirements. Training is recorded on the staff-training matrix; subjects include, but are not limited to:
- CSCS/CPSC Card
- Asbestos Awareness
- Confined Space Awareness
- Manual Handling
- Abrasive Wheels
- First Aid
- CITB Site Manager Safety Training
- CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training
- Environmental Awareness
- Scaffold Inspection
- Banksman / Slinger
- Plant operators
Demonstrating our commitment
Enzo's Construction recognises that it is necessary to demonstrate our commitment to high standards in our systems of work and as such we are in the process of obtaining ISO 9001:2008 accreditation. We anticipate that certification to this standard will be achieved in the very near future. We are proud to have worked in close co-operation with the Welsh Assembly Government in this endeavour. We believe that accreditation will demonstrate our business has achieved an internationally recognised standard of quality in its work procedures and also show that we are committed to continuous improvement of such, year on year.
Communication
We welcome any feedback that third parties may wish to provide us with in order to allow us to improve the way in which we work. We ensure that any issues raised are communicated with the workforce to make them aware and as a result to work more safely.
We welcome any observations relating to our SHE performance and consider them as opportunities for further improvement. Therefore, please contact Head Office on 01269 833885 if you have any issues/comments, or positive observations of employees.
